As a junior athlete I played netball and basketball, and I spent much time coaching netball, basketball and also swimming.

After completing my degree I spent 5 years working in the Fitness and Recreation industry, before meeting my husband-to-be Jason.

I worked at the Boroondara Tennis Centre for 2 years as Programs co-ordinator and gained much experience in running a successful tennis business.

My first child was born in 2000, and I have continued to coach and work in my own business with my husband Jason for the past 25 years while raising 4 busy children.

Our business has grown enormously in that time. We provide coaching services at 8 clubs and schools, and employ 6 full-time staff and other casual employees.

In 2012 I returned to study to complete the Tennis Australia Master Club Professional course (Diploma of Management). The Diploma was designed to train experienced coaches and volunteer administrators in the skills necessary for the effective business management and administration of tennis facilities. While the course was a huge undertaking while still running my own business and caring for 4 small children, it was fantastic to re-ignite my passion for continued learning, and to meet like-minded tennis professionals.

The course was terrific, and I use many of the skills learned in my day to day operations.

I have continued to pursue opportunities for professional development, and enjoyed a recent workshop encouraging “Confident Communication for Leaders”

I am passionate about tennis, and believe participation at all levels needs to be encouraged through engaging, structured and quality programs. I am also passionate about coach education and engagement, and opportunities for coach networking and mentoring.
